FAMILY LAW THAT IS RESPONSIVE, FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL

We are not your usual family law firm. There’s no vast city office, large staff, and expensive overheads. Instead, we keep it simple. We work remotely and utilise technology to connect with our clients wherever they live, city or country. This allows us to be more responsive to our clients’ individual needs. And importantly, we can reach more people who need help outside our cities.

We understand that life goes on even if you’re separating (and it feels like the world is ending). It’s a lot to handle at once. We get it. We will explain what is happening throughout the process and make sure you’re kept informed. Our clients like being able to text us a quick question and get an answer. Online meetings are the go. And we can schedule meetings after hours if that better suits your work/family schedule.

We’ll work with you, not force you to work around us.

Have you been separated for 12 months? Is it finally time to move forward?

Talk to us about the pros and cons of filing a sole or joint application for divorce. It can be quick and easy (sometimes!). (And if you are divorced, have you done your property settlement? You’ve only got 12 months from the date of the divorce order…)

Every asset. Every liability. Yes, it includes businesses, companies, farms, superannuation, family trusts and cars. The lot. A property settlement will affect your quality of life for years to come. If you can, seek advice before you separate. And do you know the time limits? The clock is ticking so seek friendly legal advice (from a family lawyer – not your mates at the pub, lovely as they are) the sooner, the better.

For most families, the joys of parenting don’t end with separation. Parenting just morphs into a whole new world of co-parenting, parenting plans and orders, post-separation parenting courses and family counselling, parenting apps on your phone, calendars, and often, understandably grumpy children. We can walk with you through the parenting maze.

If you have the wherewithal to create a child, you are expected to have the wherewithal to financially support them. You can work out child support payments by using the government formula or by negotiating an agreement with the other parent. We can work through this with you.
